As part of the partnership with UNICEF Moldova, we aim to enhance road safety by developing local policies to introduce 30 km/h speed limits in school zones and designing and testing an extracurricular policy for institutionalizing road safety education.
The second phase of the project will focus on raising awareness about road safety and fostering positive behavior changes for safe and healthy journeys to and from school for students, parents, caregivers, and communities. It will also emphasize increasing awareness and communication about road safety among local public authorities, schools, parents, children, and adolescents in the targeted communities.
The main goal of the project is to improve institutional capacities for road safety and to cultivate healthy behaviors among key stakeholders, children, and adolescents.
The planned activities will take place in three locations: Bălți, Ungheni, and Sângerei, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and local public authorities, with the support of UNICEF Moldova, FIA Foundation, and FIA.
