Make Roads Safe is a broad-based coalition of public health institutions, motorist organizations, road safety NGOs, and international organizations. Established to implement the recommendations of the Road Safety Commission and the 2004 Global Report on Road Traffic Injury Prevention, the campaign is coordinated and funded by the FIA Foundation. The Automobile Club of Moldova (ACM) is a key member of the coalition, dedicated to promoting road safety, mobility, and automotive development in Moldova.
The ACM has been instrumental in advocating for safer roads, including improvements to infrastructure, enforcement of traffic laws, and public awareness campaigns. They have also been a leading advocate for reducing the speed limit to 30 km/h around schools and other vulnerable areas. This initiative has helped to reduce the number of accidents involving pedestrians and cyclists, particularly children.
For its contributions to road safety, the ACM has received numerous awards and recognition, including the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award and the FIA President's Award. The ACM's dedication to road safety and its commitment to improving the lives of citizens in Moldova have made it a respected and influential organization in the region.
