On 14 December 2018, the Automobile Club of Moldova (ACM) organized a launching event of the Road Safety Education Pack in Chisinau. Thus, the teachers of the “Ştefan cel Mare” and “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Lyceums of Moldovan capital were trained on use of the EASST Educational Pack for teaching road safety to children in kindergartens and schools.
The Road Safety Educational Pack was developed by the Eastern European Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport (EASST) and translated and adapted by the ACM and ProtectMD Foundation. The given material is created as educative support for road safety teaching in various formal and non-formal educational activities for preschool and school education. Following several institutional and formal procedures, introduction of the Pack into the National Curriculum has been approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research as didactic supporting guide for teachers and educators within the Personal Development Discipline.
Starting from January 2019, the Automobile Club of Moldova will conduct ToTs in over 50 educational institutions of Moldova to present the Education Pack and pilot road safety lessons.
